Toronto vs Montreal, Leafs vs Habs, Can’t We All Just Get Along?
Hockey has long wondered the answer to the following question. Which is worse: being a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, or being a fan of the Montreal Canadiens?
Safe to say that in some capacity we’re all losers.
Laura and I look like we’re having a rockin’ good time on our birthdays. I’m glad I recognized the formality of the occasion and put a tie on.
This is my second term as mayor (albeit co-mayor this time). Are you keeping a taly?
I am glad to see that the the Leaf is holding the cup. We may never see that again.
Carl: I am not keeping a tally, but that is just about the greatest idea in the world. I will keep track of it in an excel sheet from now on. I used to have a spreadsheet that kept a tally of this idea that became the “Hero of the Day.” That was the basis for “Mayor of Awesome Town.”
Brooke: Take solace in the fact that Montreal has won the cup in every decade. By my perverted logic, that means they’ll win it within 3 years. Switch to the dark side.
Until the Leafs win the Cup (40 years and counting), I think the answer is pretty simple.
But at least I get to pay extra money so I can see all the Leaf games on TV.
I think this means everyone should be Sens fans.
My logic on the Habs had been that when they won in 1992, the Habs had won a cup in at least once every 7 years….sadly the Habs let me down back in ’99.
Janelle, I personally blame Patrick Roy.
He’s kind of like the new curse of the Bambino for the Habs.
No matter, I’ll never cheer for the Senators.
sorry but the leafs did not do the series this year… i guess they are just not anygood they should try another sport maybe… or try to join a good hockey club

1st of all i am sick and tired of leafs fans teasing me about the phillie 3-1 series, the habs were called “the worst canadian team” at the start of the year and already have outdone themselves. now the the leafs fans think they have the right to even think about making fun of the habs, well u can all shut ur mouths. In round 2, habs are in tough; but in round 2, the leafs are probably in the f***ing rough.

The leafs beat detroit and all you leaf fans start talkin as if your going to go 82-0 this year..lol.Then Montreal came to town and gave you your wake up call.That was your Leafs this year.What you saw against the Canadiens on T.V in the A.C.C was your 2008/2009 leafs. Hmmm…suddenly the reality hits and you all realize yup again as always the leafs suck. I think they should hang a huge banner outside the A.C.C that reads
TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS…A LOOSING TRADITION SINCE 1967 and leave it there until they win the cup..so it will be there for at least another 40+ years. Your kids kids wont see them win a cup in their life time. And cheer for the sens? Give your head a shake girl..when’s the last time they won a cup? Even longer than the leafs.1926-27 to be exact. The last time the cup was won by a canadian team was 1992-93 by the Canadiens before that it was 1989-90 by the oilers. Toronto has won the cup 11 times since 1926 the Canadiens have won it 24 times.The Canadiens have won it 5 years in a row from 1955-56 to 1959-60. No other team in the N.H.L has matched that record. So to all you leaf fans that want to trash talk the Montreal Canadiens.You have no room to talk…win a cup first then we might let you talk.
The leafs suck… They just grab no good players out of anywhere and try to make a team out of it… Grabovski is the prime example… We whoop yall asses any day… Cuz Montreal is where its at…
*May I suggest dat the leafs try out for golf???… The leafs players plus-minus is so low… So why dont you tryout for a sport where it counts… loooooooool
